People live in Sudan, a nation torn apart by civil war between rival military factions that has displaced millions and left entire communities without food, water, or medical care. The population is overwhelmingly Muslim, and Christians — concentrated among southern and Nuba Mountain communities — face severe persecution, including forced conversion and destruction of churches. Hundreds of people groups across dozens of languages have little to no access to the gospel.

Peace and Healing
Sudan's civil war, reignited in 2023 between rival military factions, has produced one of the world's worst humanitarian crises — millions displaced, cities reduced to rubble, famine spreading through Darfur and Kordofan. An estimated ten million people have been driven from their homes. Sudan has barely known peace since independence. Pray for a ceasefire and a political settlement, for aid organizations to reach starving communities, and for those who have lost everything to find hope beyond what politics can provide. Ask God to meet Sudan's people in the wreckage and bring His healing to a nation that desperately needs it. "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3)
Persecuted Believers
Sudan's Christian communities — concentrated in the Nuba Mountains, South Kordofan, and Blue Nile state — have faced systematic destruction: churches bombed, pastors arrested, villages razed in campaigns of ethnic and religious cleansing. The Sudanese church carries a long history of endurance forged through decades of persecution and now deepened by civil war. Pray for believers to be supernaturally sustained — for community, Scripture, and the Spirit to reach isolated congregations. Ask God to protect pastors who shepherd churches under fire and to strengthen all those facing forced conversion or violence for their faith. "The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble." (Psalm 9:9)
Unreached Tribes
Sudan has over 168 unreached people groups speaking more than 90 languages — most with no Scripture in their mother tongue and no believer within their community. No mission strategy can fully account for this scale of diversity across a vast, conflict-torn land. But God can go where missionaries cannot. Pray for supernatural encounters — dreams, visions, the still small voice — to reach Sudanese men and women whose languages have never carried the name of Jesus. Ask God to reveal Himself to those who have never been given a chance to seek Him. "I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me." (Isaiah 65:1)
